We do love Rowlf, a classically trained graduate of Ruff Barker's Obedience & Music School where he majored in "piano playing, punning and fetching." This creative canine has jammed with The Electric Mayhem Band, was resident pianist with The Muppet Show Orchestra and rocked some barbershop quartet with Sam the Eagle, Beaker, and Link Hogthrob in The 2011 Muppet Movie.
A fan of classical music, particularly Beethoven and musicals, this vintage Muppet Show clip showcases Rowlf's inventiveness with the song I Got Rhythm, from George and Ira Gershwin's Broadway musical Girl Crazy, with a little (ahem) help from Fozzie Bear.
Ah Beaker, is there no end to his talent. When he is not splitting atoms with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew at CERN, our reclusive creative is rocking a fine falsetto with a fine performance by The Swedish Chef on tenor and Animal in a post code near bass.
So, with less than a month to go before Saint Patrick's Day, we just wanted to share this very unique rendition of Danny Boy with you. Nach bhfuil siad go hálainn ar fad!
We do love an edgy interpretation of a classic, so we do. Beaker, away from the lab coat tails of his mentor Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, shines (and burns) in this stunning re-invention of Ode To Joy by Ludwig Van Beethoven.
A talented but shy individual, Beaker has also performed in ensemble pieces. In the 2011 film The Muppets, Beaker sang a fantastic a cappella version of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as part of a barbershop quartet with Sam the Eagle, Rowlf the Dog and Link Hogthrob.
In the lab, or on the stage, we believe that Beaker has a bright future ahead!
What better way to mark the flamboyant and spooktastic occasion that is Hallowe'en with a short video courtesy of our heros The Muppets. No subtitles required for the Swedish Chef, who although may never win a Michelin star for his cuisine, has a five star place in our hearts.
Altogether now...Børk! Børk! Børk!
Over 30 years ago, designer Peter Saville crafted the album cover for Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures. By lifting the image verbatim from a science book that depicts the very first reading of a pulsar from 1967, Saville created an iconic visual.
A simple sporadic pattern with mysterious lines and peaks that communicates Joy Division’s discordant and haunting sound.

Hard Working Class Heros 2010 starts tomorrow, Thursday the 7th October at 7.30pm running until Saturday the 9th . As part of this Showcase of Irish bands and musicans a photography exhibition will be taking place in The Workman's Club on Wellington Quay. All of the artists involved had their lambdachromes (photographic prints) printed here in Fire. We wish all the artists every success for what will be an exciting event.
Director of Sales here in fire by day, but by night Paul O'Connor turns into the lead singer of El Hombre Jokes. They are releasing their new single this weekend and you can purchase it on downloadmusic.ie. In the mean time sit back and have a listen. I like it Paul, but I will never say this to your face...
