Making of a Cover

WARNING! Watching this short will cause your jaw to drop, followed by involuntary joyful shrieking, which could persist for 5 to 10 minutes. If this is all too much for a Monday then click away now.

If you have stayed to watch then I can tell you this cover for Novum was design by Paperlux, Design Studio and self proclaimed paper fetishist from Hamburg, Germany. The design itself is just so clever, beautiful and well, down right extraordinary. To create the flexibility of the cover they were inspired by Buckminster Fuller who was an American engineer, systems theorist, author, designer, inventor and futurist. A man, I admit, I had not heard of until now(for shame). But I look forward to learning more about Bucky as he was it seems  a very interesting chap.

The Healthy Birth Directory

We designed The Healthy Birth Directory for the West of Ireland! It's back from the printers and ready for the official launch on Tuesday March 8th! The brochure published by AIMS Ireland and edited by Tara Durkin & Sorcha Kearney Wolnik is a new, independent resource for women and families planning to have a baby in the West of Ireland. It was great working with Tara & Sorcha and we wish them all the best for launch night!

Election Posters

Ah yes the election is in full swing. The city is covered in big heads but never mind the policies or the political rhetoric. Lets look at what really matters who's got a nice poster. I personally love Mannix  Flynn's, the colour the layout just everything about it.

Warm Heads

These Warm Heads Cards are perfect! Especially considering the weather we're experiencing at the moment. A very original and humorous take on the traditional Christmas card. Designed by  W+K studio you can buy them from their shop! My favourite has to be the balaclava card, it really made me laugh!

Star Wars

Olly Moss just released his take on the original Star Wars Trilogy. You can get these limited edition screen prints for the nerd in your life from Mondo. I confess I really don't know much about Star Wars. I don't think I have ever consciously sat through an entire Star Wars film in my life, but I love this posters.

Anamorphic Typography

I love this Anamorphic Typography by recent design graduates Joseph Egan and Hunter Thomson from Chelsea School of Art. They came up with this idea for their end of year show. Both wanting to explore the relationship between architecture and design and they did, in spectacular fashion.
