We do love Rowlf, a classically trained graduate of Ruff Barker's Obedience & Music School where he majored in "piano playing, punning and fetching." This creative canine has jammed with The Electric Mayhem Band, was resident pianist with The Muppet Show Orchestra and rocked some barbershop quartet with Sam the Eagle, Beaker, and Link Hogthrob in The 2011 Muppet Movie.
A fan of classical music, particularly Beethoven and musicals, this vintage Muppet Show clip showcases Rowlf's inventiveness with the song I Got Rhythm, from George and Ira Gershwin's Broadway musical Girl Crazy, with a little (ahem) help from Fozzie Bear.
Let's spare a thought for the leprechaun in this current economic climate. His precious crock of gold may have been invested in Anglo or hidden in a ghost estate, somewhere well beyond the rainbow. A shoemaker by trade, his clients are mainly from the spirit community.
Tapping into the leisure market, the leprechaun provides the fairies with their dancing shoes, as the fairies love a jig but all the property tax they have to pay on their forts may just dampen their spirits.
No leprechaun was available to comment at time of going to press and the the fairies were, well, they were away with the fairies.
Thanks to the The National Leprechaun Museum for providing inspiration for this post!
Hello to all my fans! Yoshi dog-in-residence at The Copper House Gallery here casting a canine eye on the fine world of fine art.
That nice artist Basil Blackshaw likes painting horsies and his best friends and he is Best in Show for the representation of canines in the arts.
His lovely painting Big Brown Dog is nicer than a squeaky toy. Big Brown Dog is happy and scruffy and he loves his best friends. I love my best friends and playing with my squeaky teddy.
We are delighted to see the reclusive pine martens are making something of a comeback! Guest starring on the gem of a show Living the Wildlife on RTÉ One, the very endearing presenter Colin Stafford-Johnson introduces us to an entire family of pine martens (Queen Maeve and her kits) who happen to share an attic with artist Richard Ward. You could call them pine martens-in-residence!
An accomplished artist, Richard Ward's paintings of these pine marten muses have graced our postage stamps. A cousin to the badger, the pine marten likes the wilds of Co. Clare, south Co. Galway, and parts of Tyrone and Fermanagh. They enjoy climbing, hunting rodents and consider hibernation to be quite passé.
Ah Beaker, is there no end to his talent. When he is not splitting atoms with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew at CERN, our reclusive creative is rocking a fine falsetto with a fine performance by The Swedish Chef on tenor and Animal in a post code near bass.
So, with less than a month to go before Saint Patrick's Day, we just wanted to share this very unique rendition of Danny Boy with you. Nach bhfuil siad go hálainn ar fad!
Hello to all my friends! Yoshi dog-in-residence at The Copper House Gallery with paws for thought about the representations of canines in the arts. That nice Scottish photographer Paul Walker won a big prize for Photographer of the Year 2012 like winning Best in Show at Crufts.
That nice photographer Paul Walker captured a lovely moment (pictured above) when the hunting dog may have spotted a squirrel. Squirrel!!! Or the hunting dog is playing fetch and is looking for his stick. I like playing fetch with my best friends.
Just for you good folk out there, a short hommage to our five star MasterChef judges. This delectable video by super-fly artist Swede Mason is entitled Masterchef Synesthesia.
Hello to all my fans! Yoshi dog-in-residence at The Copper House Gallery here to wish you all a very sparkly and fun Christmas, with lots of squeaky toys and treats.
From Poodle to Pomeranian, Chihuahua to Collie, I hope that you and your best friends have time to play fetch and go for walkies over the holidays. A howlingly good Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone from me and all my good friends at The Copper House Gallery!
We will be back from our holidays on Wednesday 2nd January 2013 so all your nice people can visit me and my friends.
Oh, a woof of thanks to my stylist and good friend Sarah Eva Manson for her help on this photo shoot!
