Why be caught out in a shower looking soggy and ill-prepared when you could be defying the drizzle by wielding one of these very fine umbrellas!
These come from Chicago-based designers Materious. Have a look at their other clever ideas here.
We do like a good egg here in Fire, chocolate-y or chicken-y, we love em all. Here's a not at all disturbing little ditty, sung in praise of the humble fresh egg (via I Love Egg, naturally). Enjoy and have a happy Easter!
Just a little something to ease yourself into the weekend. This stop motion was created by Kirsten Lepore and tells the tale of a long distance friendship in a quirky, thoughtful way... using sand and snow!
So if you haven't seen that one friend in a little too long a time, watch the video, pick up the phone and go for a pint! Enjoy!
It's funny the things you stumble across on twitter, the land of tweets and retweets and tweeple (that's twitter people). They're sometimes weird, sometimes wonderful, a lot of the time just plain random, but thanks to a good follower of ours we were alerted to a little something that has Fire's name all over it, a theme song if you will!
Thanks to @stitchlily for sharing this gem of a song, impeccable taste! Quite an appropriate song in preparation for painting the town red this friday evening, enjoy!
Yay it's Friday!... Saying that, it doesn't quite hold the same upbeat meaning as usual. It's the second Friday of January, money funds are dangerously low, New Year's resolutions are slowly dwindling and morale is, well.........
So instead of offering unhelpful methods of combating these January blues, I offer sympathy and someone who experiences these unruly blues on a daily basis.
I give you Eeyore. And in case your childhood was deprived and you don't know who Eeyore is, have a look at the cartoon above and all will make sense. Even Eeyore is attempting to reinvent himself in this classic. Enjoy!
Christmas is a time when Santa and his reindeers are idolised as they make their round the world trip in a mere 24 hours. Their famed status leaves little time for their minions to be appreciated. When I say minions, I mean the elves. While Santa and crew receive all the credit, the elves remain in the background preparing for the next Christmas ahead.
This video is dedicated to all those hard done by elves out there. Happy Christmas!
With less than a week 'til Christmas Day, the indulgence of all things sweet, yummy and alcohol ridden should have begun! Among these Christmas delights is the humble mince pie, love it or hate it, it's a Christmas essential.
I however have sourced a not-so-humble mince pie. This particular laser cut mince pie, not only contains a 1920's cognac, a solid platinum coin, sugar derived from sperm whale secretions and is bound together with holy water from Lourdes, but it is also worth over £3,000. That's €3,574.19 to the regular Joe Soap (baring in mind the dodgy status of the euro).
The mince pie is on display in Ilford, East London, where one of it's paying visitors (proceeds do go to charity) are in with a chance to win this culinary delight!... I can safely say we all have a new found appreciation for our Eurospar mince pies!
Pop!...It's as simple as that. A refreshing stop motion-ish video, created for MTV Brazil, was made using one "popping" device, hundreds of balloons, a camera, and your everyday dolly. Said dolly is traveling fast enough to pop and film ten balloons a second.
I need not say anymore... Have a look for yourself!
